History
of basketball
Dr. James Naismith was a Canadian physical
education instructor who invented the game of basketball in 1891 while working at
the YMCA training school in Springfield, Massachusetts
Basketball is the only major America sport
with a clearly Identifiable, inventor James Naismith wrote the sports original
13 rules as part of a December 1891 class assignment at a young men’s.

The concept of basketball was born
from Naismith school days in the area where he played a simple child game known
as duck-on-a-rock outside his one-room schoolhouse.
The problem with the new game which
was soon called basketball was getting the ball out the basket they used
ordinary fruit baskets bottoms and the ball of course stayed inside at first
someone had to climb up every time basket was scored it was several years before
The original
rules
· The ball may be thrown in any
direction one or both hands.
· The ball may be batted in any
direction with one or both hands
· A foul is striking the ball with the
first violation 3 and 4 and such as describe in rule.
An America game that has traveled well is
basketball now played by more than 250 million people worldwide in an organized
fashion as well as by countless other in pick up games
